Network/Firewall Engineer - Patching and Vulnerability Management (Shiftwork)

Role Purpose:
Responsible for the patching and vulnerability management of all network and firewall devices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Administer and manage network environments including Cisco, Fortinet, F5, with knowledge of ACI, Arista, Checkpoint, Palo Alto.

• Perform patch management and vulnerability management for network and firewall devices.

• Troubleshoot patching and firmware upgrade issues.

• Extensive experience in network and firewall patching, including rollback procedures.

• Utilize patch management tools such as NetBot or similar solutions.

• Conduct patch assessments and recommend or plan deployments.

• Automate pre- and post-patching tasks.

• Perform BIOS and firmware upgrades.

• Strong experience with Cisco platforms (IOS/IOS-XE).

• Understand and analyze network flows.

• Solid experience and understanding of DNS, DHCP, and IPAM.

• Hands-on experience with switching (VLANs, bundling mechanisms, Ethernet, STP variants) and routing (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP).

• Familiarity with standard and extended access lists.

• Monitor and maintain system logs.

Skills & Requirements:

• 8-10 years of experience in network and firewall administration.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Strong interpersonal skills.

• Experience working in a SLA-driven environment.

• Ability to work in a flexible, team-oriented, and dynamic environment.

• Willingness to work weekends as per roster and provide on-call support during weekdays as needed.
