Network Engineer

We are seeking a Network Engineer to support daily network operations and maintenance activities across wired and wireless network environments. The successful candidate will be responsible for network troubleshooting, device support, configuration verification, and operational support to ensure network availability and performance.

Key Responsibilities

Wired Network Support (Aruba Networking)

• Perform first-level troubleshooting and support for network issues.
• Assist in testing, verification, and deployment of network equipment.
• Support device onboarding, connection testing, and operational validation.
• Verify network configurations and ensure compliance with established standards and architecture.

Wireless Network Support (Aruba Networking)

• Support wireless site surveys, testing, and Wi-Fi troubleshooting activities.
• Monitor and troubleshoot wireless network performance issues.
• Coordinate with vendor support teams (e.g. HPE TAC/RMA) for hardware replacement and fault resolution.
• Analyse wireless coverage, interference, and performance bottlenecks.
• Assist in wireless network optimisation and change implementation.

Network Operations & Administration

• Maintain network documentation, configuration records, and asset inventories.
• Support standardised configuration management and operational procedures.
• Track equipment lifecycle, firmware versions, and hardware inventory.
• Follow up on incident tickets through to resolution and closure.
• Support daily service requests, incidents, and change requests.

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Network Engineering, or related discipline.
• Minimum 1-3 years of experience in network operations or network support.
• Hands-on experience with Aruba wired and wireless networking technologies.
• Basic understanding of LAN, WLAN, TCP/IP, routing, switching, and network troubleshooting.
• Experience supporting enterprise network environments is preferred.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.
• Ability to perform onsite support activities, including wireless access point replacement where required.

Preferred Skills

• Aruba certifications (ACMA, ACMP, or equivalent).
• Experience working with HPE Aruba networking solutions.
• Familiarity with ITIL-based ticketing and change management processes.
• Experience with network monitoring and diagnostic tools.
