Network Engineer (ServiceNow)

Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced Network Engineer (ServiceNow) to support the onboarding of network infrastructure into the Enterprise Service Management (ESM) platform. The role focuses on executing ServiceNow Discovery and Service Mapping, validating CMDB data, and ensuring accurate onboarding of a 450+ device network estate. The successful candidate will work closely with Network Operations and ESM teams to drive data quality, service visibility, and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities:

• Execute and manage ServiceNow Discovery and Service Mapping for network devices and services.
• Validate, reconcile, and maintain CMDB Configuration Items (CIs) and relationships.
• Onboard network assets and dependencies into ServiceNow with accurate attributes and mappings.
• Troubleshoot discovery issues and improve discovery patterns, probes, and credentials.
• Ensure CMDB data quality through governance and remediation activities.
• Document onboarding standards, processes, and operational procedures.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders and vendors to support project delivery.

Requirements:

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in network engineering or operations.
• Hands-on experience with ServiceNow Discovery, Service Mapping, and CMDB.
• Strong understanding of network technologies, including routing, switching, and firewalls.
• Knowledge of CI relationships, CMDB data models, and data governance practices.
• Experience in Python or PowerShell scripting for automation is advantageous.
• Strong analytical, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.
