Network Engineer (L2) - Wired & Wireless
Key Responsibilities . Perform deep-dive troubleshooting across L2/L3 domains, WLAN, RF performance issues, roaming problems, and packet-level diagnostics . Configure and optimize campus switches, access layer devices, WLAN controllers, and cloud-managed wireless platforms . Execute complex network changes with full pre-/post-implementation validation and rollback planning . Conduct wireless RF tuning, interference analysis, spectrum scanning, and coverage/roaming optimization . Review, validate, and supervise cabling and physical network work interpret and approve Fluke/DDT test reports . Refine and tune network monitoring systems, dashboards, alarms, and operational runbooks . Troubleshoot and configure NAC/802.1X (EAP methods, RADIUS, authentication policies) . Lead major incident calls, provide technical direction, and mentor L1 engineers to improve escalation handling and reduce repeat issues
Required Skills & Experience . 3-6 years of hands-on experience in enterprise network engineering or operations . Strong Layer 2 expertise and foundational Layer 3 skills (routing, OSPF/BGP basics, QoS fundamentals)
. Deep understanding of wireless technologies: WPA2/WPA3-Enterprise, 802.1X, RADIUS, RF characteristics, controller or cloud WLC platforms . Proficiency with troubleshooting and diagnostic tools: Wireshark, packet analyzers, spectrum analyzers, SolarWinds, Cisco/Aruba toolsets . Practical experience implementing medium-complexity changes and delivering stable network operations . Ability to guide L1 engineers, review work quality, and act as the technical escalation point . Preferred certifications: CCNP, CWNA/CWDP, Aruba ACP/ASE, Fortinet NSE4
