Responsibilities
- Monitor network performance continuously using tools such as SolarWinds, PRTG, and Nagios to ensure stable operations
- Respond promptly to all reported network incidents and provide effective troubleshooting support
- Travel to remote sites to diagnose and resolve network issues as required
- Attend to all alerts and events generated by network monitoring tools to prevent service disruptions
- Escalate hardware, software, and telecommunications issues to third-party vendors in a timely manner
- Implement operational changes including configuration of load balancers, network switches, routing, firewall rules, and security policies
- Perform firmware upgrades on network and security devices to maintain system integrity
- Analyze security events detected by intrusion detection/prevention systems and Web Application Firewalls (WAF) and take appropriate action
- Troubleshoot and log support tickets with Cloud Service Providers (Azure, AWS) for network components deployed in the cloud
- Analyze network performance issues and recommend optimization strategies for implementation
- Conduct NetFlow tracing to diagnose network traffic and performance issues
- Ensure timely updates and closure of IT Service Management (ITSM) tickets to maintain service quality
- Collaborate with internal teams and third-party vendors to perform root cause analysis for network incidents
Required competencies and certifications
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in network monitoring and support
- Ability and willingness to work 24x7 operational shifts to maintain network availability
- Experience supporting Cisco routing and switching, network load balancers, and Checkpoint or Palo Alto firewalls
- Familiarity with ITIL best practices and processes for incident and change management
- Strong knowledge of networking fundamentals including IP addressing, routing, and VLANs
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification
- Experience with Software-Defined Networking (SDN) technologies such as Cisco ACI, VMware NSX, Juniper Contrail, and SD-WAN
- Proficiency with VPN and remote access solutions including Cisco AnyConnect and Palo Alto GlobalProtect
