Responsibilities
- Monitor network performance continuously using tools such as SolarWinds, PRTG, and Nagios to ensure stable and efficient operations
- Respond promptly to all reported incidents, providing timely troubleshooting and resolution support
- Travel to remote sites as required to diagnose and resolve network issues on location
- Attend to all alerts and events generated by network monitoring systems to maintain service availability
- Escalate hardware, software, and telecommunications issues to third-party vendors when necessary to expedite resolution
- Implement operational changes including configuration updates for load balancers, network switches, routing, firewall rules, and security policies
- Perform firmware upgrades on network and security devices to maintain system integrity and performance
- Analyze security events detected by intrusion detection/prevention systems and Web Application Firewalls (WAF) to mitigate risks
- Troubleshoot and log support tickets with Cloud Service Providers (Azure, AWS) for network components deployed in cloud environments
- Conduct network performance analysis and recommend optimization strategies to enhance network efficiency
- Perform NetFlow tracing to diagnose traffic flow and network behavior issues
- Ensure timely updates and closure of IT Service Management (ITSM) tickets to maintain accurate incident records
- Collaborate with team members and third-party vendors to conduct root cause analysis for network incidents and implement corrective actions
Required competencies and certifications
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in network monitoring and support
- Willingness to work 24x7 operational shifts to ensure continuous network availability
- Experience supporting Cisco Routing and Switching, Network Load Balancers, and Checkpoint or Palo Alto Firewalls
- Familiarity with ITIL best practices and processes for incident and change management
- Strong knowledge of networking fundamentals including IP addressing, routing, and VLAN configurations
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification
- Experience with Software-Defined Networking (SDN) technologies such as Cisco ACI, VMware NSX, Juniper Contrail, and SD-WAN
- Proficiency in network monitoring tools (SolarWinds, PRTG, Nagios) and network performance optimization techniques
- Knowledge of VPN and remote access solutions including Cisco AnyConnect and Palo Alto GlobalProtect
