How you create impact
- Lead the National Gateway and Procurement team in accordance with the Global Gateway framework, driving operational excellence and development across the organisation.
- Establish and review KPIs in line with the corporate framework, manage Gateway P&L and implement measures to control costs and meet overall targets.
- Define sourcing and procurement strategies for the export gateway.
- Develop and implement strategies for potential new Import and Export Gateways, including virtual solutions without on-site physicality.
- Review the current Gateway network and operations, making recommendations to enhance and streamline operations in line with Global Gateway standards.
- Regularly review freight programmes and identify areas of engagement and opportunities to leverage cost benefits.
- Develop effective measures to support business growth through involvement in RFQs, frequent collaboration with the B2B Sales community, and customer meetings to support decision-making around capacity management, routings, etc.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with airline partners and the GSA community, identifying opportunities to develop new areas.
- Negotiate with and select carriers based on demand, cost, capacity and service quality.
- Conduct business review meetings with selected carriers and review performance and development.
- Source and procure airfreight capacity with commercial airlines, charter carriers and GSAs that are cost-effective and aligned with the Global HO strategy.
- Continuously review existing contracts and alternates with airlines to ensure ongoing feasibility.
- Procure charter and part-charter capacity for EN internal customers based on their charter requirements and in close alignment with the charter organisation.
- Support and collaborate with gateway, pricing and development teams.
What we would like you to bring
- Extensive Air Logistics experience, with international experience and a strong understanding of Air Logistics transportation, ideally supported by a degree in Business, Logistics, Finance or a related field.
- Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence, negotiate, resolve conflicts and build effective relationships across different countries and stakeholder groups.
- Strong commercial and decision-making capabilities, with high accountability and the ability to make sound decisions based on agreed criteria, including in challenging situations.
- Strong analytical, financial and problem-solving skills, with the ability to recognise industry and market trends and translate these into profitable business opportunities.
- Solid knowledge of pricing, sourcing and procurement, including contract review, invoicing and negotiation terms, as well as sourcing and procurement techniques.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, including project management, presentation and moderation capabilities.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint), with fluent English, and willingness to travel.
