MySQL- Patch Management

Responsibilities

• Perform database vulnerability assessments, CVE impact analysis, and security remediation for MySQL environments.
• Review MySQL security advisories, updates, and patches to identify vulnerabilities and determine operational impact.
• Plan, schedule, and deploy MySQL patches and security updates across SIT, UAT, DR, and Production environments.
• Conduct pre-patch and post-patch health checks, validation, and database performance monitoring.
• Develop rollback and recovery plans to minimize downtime during patch deployments.
• Develop, test, and maintain BigFix Fixlets for MySQL patch deployment and troubleshoot deployment issues.
• Administer MySQL databases, including configuration, backup, recovery, replication, and high availability.
• Support database upgrades, migration, refresh, and disaster recovery activities.
• Prepare patch compliance, vulnerability remediation, SLA, and operational reports.
• Coordinate patch deployments with infrastructure, security, and application teams in accordance with change management procedures.
• Maintain operational runbooks, SOPs, and audit documentation.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in database administration, with strong hands-on experience in MySQL.
• Experience with MySQL patching, security updates, vulnerability management, and patch assessment.
• Experience with BigFix administration, Fixlet development, testing, and deployment.
• Strong knowledge of MySQL database administration, backup and recovery, replication, and high availability.
• Experience with pre-patch and post-patch validation, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.
• Knowledge of database security hardening and vulnerability remediation.
• Familiarity with ITIL Change, Incident, and Problem Management processes.
• Knowledge of Linux/Windows Server administration and scripting or automation is preferred.
• Experience supporting production database environments and disaster recovery operations.
