Motor Underwriter (Senior Executive / Assistant Manager)
Key Responsibilities
- Underwrite Motor (new, renewal, endorsements) within Delegated Authority prepare balanced referrals/recommendations for cases above authority.
- Manage and develop an agreed portfolio negotiate pricing, terms, and coverage with brokers/customers to achieve profitable growth and retention.
- Maintain ongoing broker relations coordinate timely information flow across internal functions (e.g., operations, claims, finance, reinsurance) and external parties.
- Produce error-free policy documentation and instructions ensure accurate, timely recording of transactions in policy admin/CRM systems.
- Oversee day-to-day team operations (work allocation, TAT monitoring) supervise and guide the processing team to meet service and quality standards.
- Coach team members to enhance their technical underwriting and client relationship skills.
- Monitor portfolio performance (loss ratios, exposure trends) and recommend corrective actions (pricing, terms, risk improvements).
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies, including underwriting guidelines, authority limits, and audit controls.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to team KPIs.
Requirements
- Preferably 3 years of Motor underwriting experience (broker-facing / corporate account exposure preferred).
