Responsible for supporting in safe, efficient, and compliant offloading and mooring operations by assisting the
Mooring Master in planning and execution verifying vessel suitability and equipment certification coordinating
ship/shore interfaces and communications and monitoring technical parameters and safety checklists.
Exhibit a high standard of marine skills and safety behavior, acting as deputy to the Mooring Master (MM) in all relevant mooring operations. Also, under the guidance of the Mooring Master, the assistant is responsible for ensuring that mooring, unmooring, offloading operations, hose connection and disconnection, and tanker position keeping are carried out safely and efficiently. Ensure that mooring/unmooring and offloading hose rigging equipment are maintained, certified, and fit for use through timely inspection, servicing, and replacement when required.
Assist Mooring Master with conducting pre-arrival planning: review vessel particulars, mooring plans, boarding arrangements, manifolds, cargo/ballast readiness, tug requirements, pilotage, and weather/tide windows.
Ensure that mooring equipment and offload hose connection equipment are certified in a timely manner, in compliance with international and company requirements, and report any deficiencies to the Mooring Master inspect mooring and offload hose connection equipment, including loose lifting appliances, before and after every offloading operation participate in the coordination and execution of the six-monthly offloading hose inspection and the offload hose and mooring hawser change-out activities and ensure any damaged equipment is promptly removed from service and proper maintenance or replacement is carried out following CMMS procedure.
Support training of relevant personnel in offloading operations as required mentor rotational crews and contribute to emergency preparedness and response, ensuring the protection of people, the environment, assets, and production continuity are in line with company procedures and international regulations.
Ensure the quality of tasks performed by vendors, by supervising the execution of the jobs, providing the proper condition to execute the activities, ensuring all 3rd party employees are properly trained, certified and acquainted with MODEC's procedures and standards.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of MOG fleet performance by participating or leading, when required, RCAs, investigations of NOIs/NODs, HAZID/HAZOPs, following up and acting upon CAPAs, sharing lessons learned and promoting a culture of continuous seek for performance and integrity enhancement opportunities.
