Key Responsibilities
Lead a Model Montessori Classroom
- Design and maintain an inviting, safe, and orderly Montessori prepared environment.
- Ensure constant supervision and safety of children, maintaining compliance with city-mandated teacher-to-child ratios.
- Collaborate closely with Assistant Guide(s) to deliver a consistently high-quality Montessori learning experience.
- Deliver Montessori lessons in a thoughtful, sequential manner aligned with Guidepost Montessori training standards.
- Observe and document each child's development, strengths, and interests, using this insight to tailor support in accordance with Montessori principles.
- Engage with children in a warm, respectful, and joyful way that nurtures independence and confidence.
- Apply constructive feedback from fellow Lead Guides, your Montessori Mentor, and the Head of School to continuously enhance classroom practices.
- Collaboratively address student challenges through teamwork with your Mentor, Head of School, and peers.
- Welcome parents and staff into the classroom for tours and observations.
Deliver Excellent Parent Communication and Support
- Maintain regular, personalized communication with parents using approved platforms (e.g., email, photo-sharing tools, newsletters).
- Provide structured feedback on each child's progress through parent-teacher conferences, progress reports, and/or portfolio presentations.
- Meet with parents individually to address concerns or support developmental goals.
Contribute to a Vibrant School Community
- Attend and actively participate in staff meetings, one-on-one mentoring sessions, and ongoing professional development.
- Support school community events including classroom celebrations, parent education sessions, and outreach activities.
Qualifications
To be considered for this position, candidates should meet the following criteria:
- Fluent in English or Mandarin
- Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field
- Possess a MACTE-accredited Montessori Diploma (AMI or AMS preferred)
- Minimum of 3 years experience working with children aged 2-6 years
- Deep passion for Montessori education and philosophy
- A proactive, growth-oriented mindset with strong problem-solving skills
