The mixing technician is responsible for running and maintaining production equipment such as twin screw extruder, mixers and pelletizers. Ensure that equipment is operated safely, efficiently and product quality that meet customers requirements. Can do simple equipment and facility repairing as needed.
Responsibilities:
. Follow standard operating procedures to carry out daily production tasks such as loading/unloading packaged chemicals, pre-weighing raw materials, monitoring and feeding equipment, and packing finished goods.
. Operate, troubleshoot, and perform general preventive maintenance on extruders and mixers.
. Conduct basic QA testing and analysis to ensure product quality standards are met.
. Collaborate closely with the team to maximize production efficiency and minimize downtime and scrap.
. Perform raw material cycle counts to maintain accurate on-site inventory control.
. Learn new processes and actively participate in process improvement initiatives.
. Work independently during plant trial runs.
. Maintain proper housekeeping and ensure safety compliance in the production area.
. Identify and address downtime and efficiency issues, document and implement processes, and support process improvements and new technologies.
. Possess knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems.
. Train manufacturing personnel on proper procedures when required.
. Carry out any other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
. Minimum Nitec in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
. At least five years of experience in a chemical/compounding plant or a similar environment.
. Preferably experienced in operating and maintaining twin screw extruders.
. Good understanding of safety practices and potential risks.
. Positive attitude, strong teamwork skills, and a willingness to learn.
. Able to work on a shift schedule.
