Middle office role supporting Oil and LNG trading with international commodity trading MNC
Our client is a renowned and global commodity trading MNC based in town. The firm is looking to hire an experienced and hands-on middle office professional to support its trading business. This MNC has a good job rotation program and offers good variable bonus for strong performers.
Context:
The Middle Officer is responsible for timely trade captures, correct risk exposure and PnL reporting. The role also involves setting up the valuation/pricing curves and monitoring the desk's trading limits.
Responsibilities:
Support the business in capturing trades, reporting of risk exposures, reporting of pricing
risk to traders and PnL attribution and reporting.
Manage the risk profile of the trading business in line with the agreed appetite for risk
and risk limits
Proactively develop and improve business processes and risk systems / functionalities in
coordination with traders / IT and Chief Risk Manager
Develop and maintain good working relationships with the various functions within the
business, including finance, trading, middle office and operations
Support the business to enable new products or new trading strategies.
Technical qualifications and skills:
A degree in a numerate discipline with a financial major would be attractive, i.e. Financial
Engineering etc. Further professional qualification e.g. FRM, CFA may be helpful but not
essential.
1-5 years work experience in commodities firm and understanding of trading business.
Familiar with back office and middle office processes in a commodities trading
environment
Candidates with big 4 accounting firm experience in audit of commodities trading firm
are also relevant for this role.
