Job Description

The Merchandising Executive is responsible for overseeing the buying process, ensuring product assortment is well balanced to meet sales targets, reflecting the brand's image through seasonal collections, and maintaining product value in alignment with the brand's DNA. This role involves collaborating on all merchandise-related activities, from purchasing to developing sales strategies. Additionally, the Merchandising Manager will assist with allocation, logistic processes, and inventory depletion plans for the Singapore Market (Retail & Wholesale), taking appropriate daily and weekly actions to enhance sell-through rates.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze sales and product performance across channels daily and to discuss the findings with Retail Operations Managers (ROM). Ensure all relevant teams (allocation, buying, stores, VM, logistics) take necessary actions based on the insights
  • Develop a prioritized calendar for follow-up actions in collaboration with VM & ROM, focusing on specific lines, categories, and SKUs
  • Weekly category management - Take full responsibility for managing each product category. If stock levels are low or excessive in a particular category, please take the necessary actions to correct the situation
  • Identify and track product clusters within each store for every season
  • Cooperate in preparing the seasonal collection line brief and structure to ensure the product range addresses market needs and aligns with long term strategies and growth plans
  • Maintain a balanced product offering by category, price point and delivery schedule. Focus on bestsellers, market needs, achieving sales goals and adhering to the open-to-buy (OTB) budget
  • Attend the seasonal showrooms in Lugano/Korea/Hong Kong and oversee the seasonal calendar, ensuring compliances with order deadlines
  • Analyzing the market dynamics, including customer reactions to new products, improvement suggestions, and competitor assessments, while consistently gathering feedback from store managers
  • Adapting collections and collaborate with related departments to address specific product needs in the market, which may include special capsule production
  • Present the product line to the sales team before the launch of the season, effectively communicating the product vision and commercial objectives to the sales team
  • Regularly review sales performance, particularly bestsellers, ensuring that customers can find the products they want
  • Act as a liaison between stores and head office/s, assisting VM, ROM, and Marketing on major initiatives. Maintain strong communication regarding product knowledge and weekly actions
  • Oversee inventory management both in-store and in the warehouse, including transfers between stores and warehouse to optimize stock levels per location
  • Stay informed about fashion trends, competitor activities and customer profiles
  • Develop pricing strategies based on market needs, analyzing commercial actions, such as setting competitive price points for specific SKUs
  • Maintain ongoing communication with stores (and ROM) regarding their product offering needs, potential opportunities, pricing requirements and best practices from competitors
  • Communicate regularly with the allocation team for delivery and replenishment needs
  • Controlling the initial allocations for new store openings, ensuring they include best-selling items in appropriate quantities
  • Plan and analyze sales periods, identifying optimal price reductions and strategic price points
  • Prepare for high sales period and holidays, aligning support with category needs while respecting the local commercial calendar
  • Foster strong relationships across the organization to ensure collaboration between commercial and product operations teams, working together towards a successful proposition
  • Maintain clear and professional communication with all cross-functional teams, including product developers, buyers, planners, customer service, and the commercial team
  • Assist the Business Units with all product line related activities throughout the stages of pre-sales, during sales and post sales campaign
  • Prepare analyses and reports on product performance following sales campaign

  • Pushing the sales further on special dates /occasions in the country (will coordinate activities among all departments including warehouse to make sure the country is ready for its special occasions (public holiday, etc.)
  • Less broken sizes in the stores (following up the consolidation among the stores also constantly working on clusters per category for each store)
  • To have full awareness(weather, market conditions, competition, instore activities etc) and control on what is going into the country.

Requirements

  • Having a bachelor degree and at least 3 to 5 years experience in Retail
  • Be professional and detailed oriented with a strong analytical skills
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Strong computer skills: good knowledge of all Microsoft Office Packages is a must
  • Highly motivated, able to work independently, very flexible when priorities change, problem-solving abilities, organized, detail-oriented, able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Fluent in English, additional languages are a plus
  • Ability to travel
