About the role
We are seeking a commercially driven Merchandiser to lead category performance across the region. This role blends strategic assortment planning, in-season trading, and cross-functional collaboration to drive sustainable category growth while upholding the brand's vision and exclusivity.
Key Responsibilities
Category & Business Management
- Drive overall performance of the assigned product category across South Asia
- Build commercially balanced assortments aligned with brand strategy and market needs
- Identify growth opportunities and potential business risks
- Translate sales insights into clear, actionable category plans
- Support the Manager as the category lead within the zone
Sales Analysis & Reporting
- Deliver accurate daily, weekly, and monthly sales and sell-through reporting
- Conduct in-depth and ad hoc analyses to identify opportunities and address business challenges
- Provide qualitative market insights and performance feedback to Zone and Central teams
Assortment Planning & In-Season Management
- Participate in four annual buying sessions
- Develop assortments that balance brand direction, local market dynamics, and sales targets
- Manage in-season trading, including store re-assortments based on performance, activations, and new opportunities
Launches & Training Support
- Contribute to 360 transversal collection launches
- Equip Retail teams with relevant product insights and performance feedback
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner closely with Retail, VM, Digital, Communications, L&D, Client Development, and other key stakeholders
- Act as the link between South Asia markets and the Paris Central team
- Work with Country Merchandisers and Retail teams to capture market needs and drive sales
Supply Chain Partnership
- Collaborate with Supply Chain to ensure optimal stock allocation by store and category
- Align on sales forecasts and stock strategies during buying and in-season trading
- Share category direction to support effective inventory management
Retail & Market Insights
- Maintain strong communication with stores to gather product feedback and client insights
- Support retail teams during key events and activations
- Monitor market trends and competitor activity, sharing insights with Central to influence future collections
Profile
- Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience. Luxury experiences will be an asset.
- Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills along with a commercial mindset.
- Ability to draw meaningful insights from analysis and to clearly share findings and initiate actions.
- High proficiency in MS office, particularly in Excel and PowerPoint.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Results driven with a genuine passion for the product category.
- Highly adaptable, agile and comfortable with ambiguity.
- Organized, structured and action oriented.
- Genuine curiosity, proactiveness, and a team player in a fast-paced environment.
