Responsibilities

• Conduct a range of diagnostic tests on patient specimens and report findings according to established protocols. Ensure the accuracy of results, investigating any anomalies or unusual outcomes prior to certification. Maintain thorough records related to transfusions and ensure proper filing (both manual and electronic). Prepare and issue blood and blood products for transfusions, following relevant policies and procedures. Provide guidance to medical staff on patient preparations, issuing, administering, and returning blood products. Execute quality control measures for testing materials, addressing any issues and implementing corrective actions as necessary. Diagnose and resolve instrument malfunctions or unacceptable quality control results promptly. Organize and prioritize work based on urgency, particularly regarding the release of emergency blood supplies. Adhere to regulatory and accreditation standards as set by relevant agencies and participate in quality assurance programs. Assist in operational and administrative tasks as required by the Section Leader.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Laboratory Medicine, Biomedical Sciences, Medical Laboratory Sciences, Medical Technology, Biological Sciences, Biotechnology, Life Sciences, or a related field. Candidates holding a Diploma in Biomedical Sciences, Medical Laboratory Sciences, Medical Technology, Biotechnology, Life Sciences, or a similar qualification may be considered for entry-level positions. Strong teamwork, organizational, coordination, communication, and computer skills. Willingness to work in a rotating shift pattern, including extended hours, weekends, and public holidays to support departmental needs.
