Technical Operations: Operate complex mechanical testing equipment and set up advanced data capture instrumentation.
Team Supervision: Supervise allocated staff and manage the day-to-day activities within the mechanical testing discipline.
Analysis & Reporting: Perform data interpretation, analysis, and technical report writing based on test results.
Project Interpretation: Interpret both internal requirements and specific client requests to ensure testing accuracy.
Compliance & Safety: Maintain accurate, systematic records and perform all duties in accordance with internal quality procedures and Health & Safety systems.
Lab Support: Execute general laboratory duties as needed to meet commercial demands and deadlines.
Skills & Qualifications
Education: Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field. A good general standard of English and Mathematics is essential.
Experience: Hands-on experience in a mechanical testing environment or an engineering laboratory is highly advantageous.
Technical Knowledge: A sound mechanical bias and an understanding of Quality Management Systems (such as ISO 17025) is preferred.
Competencies: * Self-motivated with the ability to multi-task in a high-pressure commercial lab environment.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
Strong communication skills (both written and verbal) and a proactive team-player attitude.
