Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and technically proficient Mechanical Equipment Technician to join our logistics operations. This role is vital for ensuring the reliability and safety of our fleet and machinery. The successful candidate will be responsible for the comprehensive repair, maintenance, and regulatory compliance of all mechanical assets. We are looking for a proactive professional who can minimize equipment downtime and ensure all vehicles meet the stringent standards required for heavy-duty logistics.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintenance & Repair: Execute routine preventive maintenance and complex mechanical repairs on prime movers, trailers, and heavy forklifts to ensure peak operational readiness.
- LTA Compliance: Schedule and manage periodic inspections required by the Land Transport Authority (LTA) to ensure all vehicles remain road-legal and compliant with national standards.
- Diagnostics & Troubleshooting: Utilize diagnostic tools to identify mechanical and electrical faults in heavy machinery and implement effective solutions.
- Hydraulic & Pneumatic Systems: Maintain and repair hydraulic lifting systems and pneumatic braking components essential for logistics equipment.
- Documentation: Maintain meticulous service logs, inspection reports, and spare part inventory records to ensure full traceability of all maintenance activities.
- Safety & Housekeeping: Uphold strict Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) standards within the workshop and ensure all tools and equipment are handled safely.
Requirements
- Experience: Minimum of 5 to 8 years of hands-on experience in mechanical maintenance, preferably within the logistics or heavy vehicle industry.
- Technical Qualification: NITEC or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Technology, or a related field.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with Singapore Land Transport Authority (LTA) inspection requirements and industrial safety protocols.
- Technical Skill: Proficiency in repairing heavy-duty diesel engines and hydraulic systems.
- Physical Fitness: Ability to perform manual labor in a workshop environment, including lifting heavy components and working in various physical positions.
