Mechanical Engineering Manager

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineering Manager to lead our mechanical engineering team in the development of innovative electromechanical products. This role combines technical leadership, people management, and hands-on engineering involvement, with a strong focus on precision mechanical design, tolerance analysis, manufacturing readiness, and cross-functional product development.

The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in mechanical engineering, experience supporting complex products involving camera modules and wireless technologies, and a strong background in leading teams in an R&D and regulated product environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of mechanical engineers, providing both technical and people leadership.
  • Drive mechanical design and development for new and existing products from concept through production.
  • Provide technical leadership in tolerance analysis, FACA, precision mechanical assemblies, and design optimization, particularly for camera modules and wireless-enabled products.
  • Support product development involving Wi-Fi, Zigbee, Bluetooth, and embedded hardware systems, ensuring strong mechanical integration.
  • Oversee DFM, DFA, tooling development, machining processes, and manufacturing readiness.
  • Continuously improve engineering processes, workflows, and development practices.
  • Implement best practices, advanced engineering methodologies, and new technologies to improve product performance and development efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable quality, regulatory, and medical device industry standards.
  • Collaborate closely with Electrical, Firmware, Quality, Manufacturing, and Program teams to align technical requirements and project goals.
  • Manage engineering resources, priorities, and project execution to meet timelines and deliverables.
  • Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders, customers, and cross-functional teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience, including at least 5 years in a leadership or managerial role.
  • Strong experience in precision mechanical design, tolerance analysis, and root cause failure analysis (FACA).
  • Good knowledge of tooling, milling, machining processes, and manufacturing methods.
  • Strong R&D product development experience is required.
  • Experience supporting electromechanical products involving camera modules, wireless systems, or embedded devices is highly preferred.
  • Experience in regulated industries such as medical devices is a plus.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with machine vision, 2D/3D camera modules, and precision optical/mechanical assemblies.
  • Familiarity with products involving Wi-Fi, Zigbee, Bluetooth, KNX RF, IoT, or similar connected technologies.
  • Strong leadership and team development skills.
  • Solid project management capabilities.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
