Wavelength Opto-Electronic (S) Pte Ltd was established in 2011, with our core business in optics design and manufacturing laser optics, optical modules, complex system customisation and LVHM rapid prototyping. We manufacture industrial laser machine process heads for the international laser application market. We also collaborate in extensive research and development, developing small-to-large scale customised complex optical systems and provide QA/QC metrology solutions for customers in the international market and Singapore.

Job Summary

We are seeking an enthusiastic Mechanical Engineer to join our R&D team, providing mechanical design and technical support for prototype integration and testing while collaborating with sales and distributors on photonic and optical product solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead mechanical design activities to develop and integrate photonic and optical products including optical modules and measurement instruments
  • Source mechanical and electronic components proactively to support project requirements and innovation
  • Support cross-functional project activities to ensure timely delivery and quality outcomes
  • Maintain comprehensive engineering documentation to uphold project standards and traceability
  • Set up and maintain equipment to ensure operational readiness and reliability for prototype testing
  • Provide technical support to sales teams and distributors to facilitate customer engagement and solution delivery
  • Apply strong problem-solving skills and hands-on mechanical expertise to address technical challenges and advance product development

Preferred Competencies And Qualifications

  • Degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a relevant field with a minimum of 2nd upper class honors or equivalent (fresh graduates pending final results may use current CGPA as reference)
  • Proficiency in CAD design software such as Inventor or SolidWorks to produce detailed mechanical designs
  • Solid understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals including design principles, machine elements, materials, and fabrication methods
  • Demonstrated enthusiasm for learning cutting-edge technologies and engaging in hands-on activities
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate responsively and cooperatively within teams and with external partners
  • Proactive and resourceful approach to sourcing and delivering innovative mechanical solutions
  • Positive attitude and strong team spirit to contribute constructively to the R&D environment
