Responsibilities & Duties
- Design and develop mechanical layouts for LV switchboards using 2D and 3D CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks).
- Ensure designs comply with relevant standards (e.g., IEC 61439, UL 891) and internal engineering specifications.
- Select and integrate mechanical components such as enclosures, busbar systems, hinges, and fasteners.
- Prepare and maintain Bill of Materials (BOM), detailed drawings, and technical documentation.
- Work closely with electrical engineers to ensure mechanical and electrical integration.
- Support production and assembly teams by resolving technical issues and optimizing design for manufacturability (DFM).
- Collaborate with suppliers and procurement teams to source appropriate materials and components.
- Conduct design reviews, risk assessments, and quality checks throughout the product lifecycle.
- Provide technical support during testing, commissioning, and customer inspection processes.
Job Specifications
- Minimum Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
- Preferably 3 years of relevant work experience. Candidates with lesser experience will be considered on a case-by-case basic
- Proficient in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or equivalent).
- Good knowledge of sheet metal design and manufacturing methods.
- Understanding of LV switchgear components, busbar arrangements, and enclosure design.
- Knowledge of relevant industry standards (IEC, UL, ISO).
- Good problem-solving and project management skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
