Mechanical Engineer

Brief Summary

Seeking a dedicated Mechanical Engineer to enhance maintenance systems and ensure optimal performance of mechanical equipment. This role involves coordinating activities, troubleshooting issues, and supporting new project management.

Responsibilities

• Execute maintenance tasks systematically, efficiently, and safely. Enhance existing preventive maintenance systems to lower costs and maximize equipment performance. Develop, update, and maintain all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), ISO documents, and equipment registration. Serve as the initiator and coordinator for Management of Change (MOC) regarding system modifications and replacements. Collaborate with the Department Manager and Supervisor to oversee daily operations. Diagnose and resolve mechanical equipment/system issues promptly. Partner with the operations team on a scheduled maintenance program to ensure smooth equipment operation. Train technicians and staff on maintenance practices while monitoring 5S and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) activities. Assist in devising and executing action plans to address process/system faults. Participate in project management activities and manage documentation, as well as coordinate with contractors and vendors. Oversee the management of mechanical and electrical spare parts and tools. Ensure compliance with Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) regulations within the section. Manage document control responsibilities effectively.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field. Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in mechanical roles, ideally within large-scale industrial settings such as palm oil mills, flour and sugar manufacturing, steel industry, mining, or waste management. In-depth understanding of mechanical systems design, installation, and maintenance in industrial environments. Proficiency in CAD software, CMMS software, and other engineering design tools. Basic hands-on experience with mechanical equipment repair and troubleshooting. Knowledge of operating conveyors, pumps, and rotating equipment is advantageous.
