About the Team:

Our Infrastructure team provides the end-to-end managed services and solutions for the entire group's Internet infrastructure alongside running business applications. As a Data Center Mechanical Engineer, you will work with a team of engineers and technologists to support the delivery and operation of reliable, energy efficient data center infrastructure. You will play a key role in cooling system design reviews, CFD result validation, liquid cooling implementation, fire protection and BMS integration activities. This role focuses on testing and commissioning activities to verify system performance and operational readiness to ensure systems meet design intent, operational requirements, and energy efficiency targets. This role will primarily focus on data center HVAC and Building Management System (BMS) integration for our own platform system across both new data center developments and existing colocation facilities.

Job Description:

  • Assist in reviewing Data Center mechanical designs, drawings, and specifications, such as HVAC system, Fire protection system, Plumbing & Sanitary system, BMS system, security system etc.
  • Assist in reviewing the Mechanical engineering designs, calculations from consultants and conduct value engineering and cost analyses.
  • Support cooling system design and optimization studies to ensure efficient thermal performance, experience in liquid-cooled solutions will be an advantage.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to define project design criteria and assist to develop the Basis of Design (BOD).
  • Support testing and commissioning activities for mechanical and electrical systems, including FAT, SAT, and IST
  • Liaise with internal platform and system teams to establish BMS monitoring and control systems, ensuring seamless integration with all relevant M&E control systems.
  • Review and implement BMS integration, including verifying control logic, and ensuring seamless integration with all mechanical and electrical systems for our own BMS platform/system.
  • Maintain documentation and assist in the development of lifecycle operation and maintenance standards

Requirements:


  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering/Building Services Engineering or related discipline.
  • Minimum 5+ years of data center design, commissioning experience, particularly in data center or mission-critical design, construction, and operations, working with a Data Center operator/ T&C consultant
  • Strong technical knowledge with data center mechanical services, such as HVAC systems, including chilled water systems, condenser water systems, pump controls, direct evaporative systems, AHU units (DX, split, CRAC/CRAH, FWU etc.), raised floor systems, hot/cold aisle containment solutions, and building management system/control automation.
  • Familiarity with the commissioning standards and procedures (ASHRAE, ISO, etc.)
  • Familiarity with industry standards, building codes, and safety regulations, including SCDF,BCA, NFPA, ASHRAE, LEED etc.
  • Knowledge of BMS system architecture, PLC/DCC controllers, networking, and BMS integration protocols (BACnet, Modbus, OPC, SNMP)
  • Data Center Certifications (e.g. Uptime Institute, DCD, EPI, or CNET courses) are advantageous.
  • Certifications in BMS platforms (e.g Easy IO Jace, Honeywell EBI, Johnson Controls Metasys) is an advantage
  • Strong technical troubleshooting, communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
  • A proactive, self-motivated, detail-driven professional who's calm under pressure and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Resourceful and well-connected within the Data Center market is an advantage.
  • Proficient in MS Office and AutoCAD.
