Key Responsibilities

Tender and Technical Support

Review tender specifications, technical drawings, and mechanical requirements for lift systems.
Assess traffic analysis, design feasibility, and compliance with applicable codes and technical standards.
Identify design gaps, technical conflicts, and potential compliance issues.
Provide technical recommendations during tender evaluation and project planning.

Design, Installation and Project Support

Review lift shop drawings, mechanical calculations, and technical submissions.
Evaluate installation methods and ensure alignment with approved specifications.
Conduct lift mock-up checks, site inspections, and installation quality audits.
Participate in handover inspections and identify defects requiring rectification.
Provide technical support to project teams, contractors, and consultants throughout the installation stage.

Quality Assurance and Lift Reliability

Monitor the performance and reliability of lift mechanical components, including ropes, guide rails, and door systems.
Analyse recurring mechanical faults and recommend corrective and preventive measures.
Conduct component inspections, supplier quality assessments, and laboratory testing where required.
Review and approve parts listings for lift mechanical components.
Maintain accurate engineering documentation and spare-parts records.
Work closely with suppliers to resolve component quality and performance concerns.

Root-Cause Analysis and Improvement

Investigate lift-related complaints, including abnormal noise, excessive vibration, rusty ropes, and mechanical component failures.
Perform root-cause analysis to identify the source of defects and recurring issues.
Recommend practical engineering solutions to improve lift safety, reliability, and performance.
Coordinate the implementation and follow-up of corrective and preventive actions.
Support continuous improvement initiatives across lift design, installation, and maintenance.

Requirements

Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.

At least 3 years of relevant mechanical engineering experience.

Experience in the lift or vertical transportation industry would be advantageous.

Good understanding of lift mechanical systems, engineering drawings and technical specifications.

Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Hands-on, detail-oriented and comfortable conducting site inspections.

Good communication and stakeholder-management abilities.
