Mechanical Engineer (Design)

Job Summary

We are looking for a hands-on Mechanical Engineer to join our project team. Unlike a pure design role, you will oversee the installation, coordination, and quality control of Mechanical systems (ACMV, Fire Protection, and P&S).

Key Responsibilities

• Site Supervision: Assist the Project Manager in overseeing all mechanical-related installation activities on-site to ensure they meet project timelines.

• Technical Analysis: Perform material quantity take-offs and develop accurate Bills of Materials (BOM). Assist the procurement team in technical evaluations of mechanical equipment.

• System Management: Manage and monitor the progress of ACMV, Fire Protection, and Plumbing & Sanitary (P&S) works.

• Coordination & Clashes: Review construction drawings to identify discrepancies or inconsistencies. Coordinate with the Structural and Architectural teams to ensure mechanical services do not clash with other elements.

• Submissions & Approvals: Manage subcontractor submissions, including method statements, material samples, and shop drawings, ensuring they meet consultant requirements.

• Quality & Compliance: Perform on-site quality control inspections to ensure all mechanical works comply with Singapore Codes of Practice and safety regulations.

• Liaison: Coordinate with client representatives and authorities for service diversions, technical troubleshooting, and the preparation of as-built drawings.

Requirements

• Education: Degree or Diploma in Mechanical, HVAC, or Mechatronics Engineering.

• Experience: 3-5 years of working experience in the Singapore construction industry, with specific exposure to MEP/Mechanical site works.

• Technical Skills: . Proficiency in AutoCAD (for checking and updating site drawings). Familiarity with MS Project and MS Office.

• Knowledge: Good understanding of relevant Singapore Codes of Practice.

• Communication: Strong interpersonal skills to manage subcontractors and liaise with consultants effectively.
