Mechanical Development Engineer

Brief Summary

We are seeking a Mechanical Development Engineer to lead the design and documentation of innovative mechanical and mechatronic components. This role is integral to transforming technical specifications into feasible designs throughout the product development lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Develop mechanical and mechatronic components and assemblies, creating detailed 3D CAD models, drawings, and tolerances. Prepare, assemble, modify, and evaluate prototypes while supporting engineering and manufacturing builds. Collaborate closely with teams to ensure designs are manufacturable and assembly-friendly, focusing on Design for Manufacturing. Plan and execute mechanical verification activities, documenting results to support system-level assessments. Participate in design reviews, assess mechanical risks, and implement necessary design modifications. Assist in the industrialization process, including tooling activities and the transition of mechanical product data to manufacturing. Liaise with customers and cross-functional teams to discuss mechanical requirements and design solutions, ensuring effective communication throughout the development process.

Requirements

• Diploma, bachelor's, or master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Product Design, or a related field. Several years of experience in mechanical product development and design. Proficiency in 3D CAD software and the preparation of manufacturing documentation. Experience in mechatronic product development is advantageous. A background in medical device development is a plus. Strong mechanical understanding, spatial reasoning, and hands-on approach to prototype building and testing. Familiarity with manufacturing and assembly processes, along with a quality-conscious mindset focused on robust, manufacturable designs.
