Job Summary
The Mechanical Design Engineer supports in designing and improving mechanical systems through CAD modeling, prototyping, and cross-team collaboration to deliver innovative, manufacturable solutions.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop mechanical components and systems using CAD software such as Inventor, solidworks and Autocab to meet project requirements
- Create detailed engineering drawings and specifications to guide manufacturing and assembly
- Perform design calculations, finite element analysis (FEA), and tolerance analysis to ensure product reliability and performance
- Collaborate with CNC machinists, site installers, electrical and manufacturing teams to integrate and optimize mechanical designs
- Support prototyping, testing, and validation activities to verify design functionality and quality
- Produce technical documentation and provide production and assembly support to ensure smooth project execution
- Participate actively in design reviews and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product outcomes
- Stay informed on industry trends, new materials, and emerging technologies to incorporate innovative solutions
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field preferred but not mandatory
- 1-3 years of experience in mechanical design or product development
- Proficiency in Inventor CAD software
- Good understanding of manufacturing processes including CNC machining and sheet metal fabrication
- Strong problem-solving skills applied to mechanical design challenges
- Effective communication and teamwork skills to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams
