Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical components, assemblies, and product solutions for consumer products.
• Translate product requirements into practical engineering designs while considering performance, quality, reliability, cost, and manufacturability.
• Generate and evaluate design concepts, identify trade-offs, and recommend suitable solutions.
• Apply Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles throughout product development.
• Create and review 3D CAD models, 2D engineering drawings, GD&T, tolerance stack-ups, and design documentation.
• Build, evaluate, and support prototype components, test rigs, and engineering samples.
• Define and support product verification and validation activities.
• Analyse test data, troubleshoot design issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
• Participate in technical reviews, design reviews, and project discussions.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams including design, quality, manufacturing, procurement, suppliers, and global engineering teams.
• Support continuous product improvement through design learning, technical documentation, and best practices.

Work Experience

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, Product Development, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 3–6 years of experience in mechanical design, product development, or related engineering roles.
• Experience designing plastic, rubber, metal, or mechanical assembly components.
• Good understanding of DFM (Design for Manufacturing) and DFA (Design for Assembly) principles.
• Hands-on experience with 3D CAD modelling, 2D drawings, GD&T, and tolerance stack-up analysis.
• Ability to convert technical requirements into practical engineering solutions.
• Experience supporting prototype builds, testing, and design validation activities.
• Strong problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach to troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced product development environment.
• Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as within cross-functional teams.
• Strong learning mindset, creativity, and passion for engineering innovation.
  
  

Preferred Skills

• Experience with consumer products or high-volume manufacturing environments.
• Knowledge of plastics, rubber, sheet metal, die-casting, or injection moulding processes.
• Exposure to product testing, industrial measurement methods, and supplier collaboration.
• Understanding of thermals, acoustics, fluid flow, mechanisms, electronics integration, or human factors engineering.
• Experience working with global engineering teams and external development partners.
