Job Summary
We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer / Drafter with strong drafting skills and practical knowledge of metal works and fabrication. The role will focus on preparing detailed shop drawings, fabrication drawings, and installation drawings for customised metal structures, frames, brackets, supports, and related project works.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare detailed shop drawings, fabrication drawings, assembly drawings, and installation drawings for metal works.
Produce drawings for mild steel, stainless steel, aluminium, sheet metal, frames, brackets, supports, base plates, channels, RHS, SHS, and other fabricated components.
Prepare accurate drawings using SolidWorks and other relevant drafting software.
Convert design concepts, sketches, site measurements, and architectural drawings into fabrication-ready drawings.
Conduct site measurements and verify dimensions before preparation of drawings.
Prepare detailed sections, connection details, mounting details, welding details, and fixing methods.
Coordinate with Project Managers and production teams
Review drawings to ensure dimensions, materials, thicknesses, finishes, and fabrication requirements are correctly indicated.
Revise drawings according to site conditions, consultant comments, client requirements, and production feedback.
Provide technical clarification to workshop and site teams during fabrication and installation.
Assist in resolving fabrication and installation issues arising from drawings or site conditions.
Carry out other engineering and drafting duties as assigned.

Requirements

Local Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or other relevant Engineering discipline from a recognised Singapore institution.
Proficient in SolidWorks
Experience in metal fabrication, structural metal works, signage fabrication, architectural metal works, or construction-related drafting is preferred.
Able to read and interpret architectural, structural, and mechanical drawings.
Good understanding of common metal sections such as RHS, SHS, angle bars, flat bars, plates, channels, and hollow sections.
Familiar with fabrication processes including cutting, bending, welding, drilling, grinding, and assembly.
Able to prepare clear fabrication details that can be understood directly by the workshop and installation teams.
Comfortable conducting site surveys and taking accurate measurements.
Strong attention to detail and drawing accuracy.
Able to coordinate closely with workshop, production, and site teams.
