Mechanical Design Engineer

Job Description

1. Prepare mechanical design, details, and assembly drawings by using CAD software.

2. Proficiency in CAD software is required.

3. Responsible for conceptual design, new product design, and improvement to existing products.

4. Experience with Engineering calculations.

5. Communicate and coordinate with suppliers, customers, and internal departments. Plan, monitor, and control the projects to meet objectives and requirements.

6. Prepare cost estimation, budget, control report, and other technical documentation when required.

7. Hands-on and assist in the factory manufacturing, installation, buy-off, supporting of projects internally and at customer sites, and other technical activities when required.

8. Assist in monitoring projects, prepare reports on project progress, and ensure the project schedule is being met

9. Fulfil any other duties as and when assigned by the management.

Requirements:

1. Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's or Diploma degree in Engineering (Mechanical or equivalent) with a minimum of 2 to 3 years of working experience and above. ITE candidates with more than 10 years of experience will be considered.

2. Working experience in the design and development of optic and handler applications or a similar background is preferred.

3. Able to work independently, and as a team player, commitment, and a sense of ownership are necessary.

4. Good interpersonal, management, and decision-making skills.

5. Able to travel with short notice and station overseas when required.

6. Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.

A 5-day work week is required in the Sembawang area. Candidates who can start work immediately or on short notice are preferred. Only shortlisted candidates will be notified.
