Job Summary

We seek a Mechanical Services Design Engineer to lead HVAC and mechanical services designs, collaborating within multidisciplinary teams to deliver engineering solutions from concept through detailed design.

Responsibilities

Lead HVAC and mechanical services design development through concept, schematic, and detailed stages to ensure project success
Prepare design briefs, engineering calculations, specifications, drawings, and technical documentation to support project requirements
Perform cooling load calculations, system sizing, and HVAC system modeling to optimize system performance
Conduct hydraulic analysis and size air and water distribution systems for efficient mechanical service delivery
Develop HVAC system schematics and design solutions throughout the project lifecycle to meet client and regulatory standards
Design Building Management System (BMS) architecture, specifications, control strategies, and sequences of operation for integrated building control
Coordinate mechanical designs with architectural, structural, and other engineering disciplines to ensure cohesive project integration
Support technical design reviews to verify compliance with project, client, and regulatory requirements

Required competencies and certifications

Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related discipline
Minimum 5 years of relevant mechanical building services design experience, preferably within an engineering consultancy or design environment

Preferred competencies and qualifications

Strong technical knowledge of HVAC systems and associated mechanical building services
Experience working effectively within multidisciplinary project teams
Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and take ownership of assigned deliverables
Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills
Proactive, self-motivated, and committed to delivering high-quality engineering work
