Mechanic

Job Description:

1. Assemble and install, under direction, new or modified:

. Mechanical/ Electrical assemblies

. Components

. Machine tools

. Controls and hydraulic power systems

2. To effectively set up and operate all equipment relevant to IKM scope of work for operation in Workshop or at Work Site.

3. Ensure compliance and safe operation of all equipment.

4. Monitor equipment characteristics to ensure its proper function/ operation and initiate Preventive/ Corrective regimes, as necessary.

5. Record Test/ Measurement/ Calibration results for documentation and issue of report.

6. Perform key routine and non-routine procedures according to established SOPs.

7. Assist in developing quality control tests for equipment and components.

8. Diagnosing faulty machines and clearly outlining work to be performed on machine as part of maintenance and repair procedures.

9. To troubleshoot and rectify all technical aspects of equipment.

10. Assembling and installing machines.

11. Dismantling faulty tools and assemblies to repair or replace defective parts

12. Replacing parts, repairing, and maintaining machines and heavy equipment.

Requirements:

. Certificate, NITEC, Diploma, or equivalent qualification in Mechanical / Marine Engineering or a related field

. No prior experience required (training will be provided)

. Experience in marine or diesel engine repair and maintenance will be an added advantage

. Willing to learn, responsible, and able to work as part of a team
