About Binjai Academy
Binjai Academy is Singapore's bilingual logic and engineering academy for P1-P3 students (ages 6-9). We combine competition-level mathematics (Beast Academy) with hands-on science and engineering-all taught in Mandarin. Our screen-minimal, 1:8 mentor-ratio model is designed for deep learning, not passive consumption. We're opening our flagship centre in Bukit Timah in Term 3, 2026.

- Teach advanced heuristics and problem-solving strategies (, , ) entirely in Mandarin to P1-P3 students
- Prepare students for mathematics competitions such as SASMO, IMAS, and SMOPS
- Guide students through systematic problem documentation and mathematical reasoning in their journals
- Collaborate with the curriculum team to refine lesson plans, problem sets, and assessment rubrics
- Maintain a 1:8 mentor-ratio classroom with high engagement and a culture of deep thinking
Who We're Looking For
What matters most
- Fluent Mandarin: Mainland, Taiwanese, or Singapore Chinese with excellent command (). Must be able to teach an entire 90-minute class in Mandarin without switching.
- 2+ years teaching elementary-age kids: Demonstrated experience working with children ages 5-9. We need someone who understands how young minds learn-not secondary students, not adults.
- High energy, warm, confident presence: You light up a room. Kids are drawn to your enthusiasm and feel safe making mistakes around you.
- Can code-switch: Mandarin with kids in the classroom, English with parents at pick-up. Comfortable in both worlds.
We'd love to see
- Competition math coaching experience: Experience coaching or preparing students for competitions like AMC, Math Kangaroo, Math Olympiad, SASMO, or equivalent.
- Strong quantitative background: Degree or industry experience in mathematics, computer science, engineering, or a related quantitative field. Deep comfort with competition-level problem solving.
- Inquiry-based or project-based learning: Experience with teaching methods that go beyond worksheets-guiding discovery, asking good questions, letting kids struggle productively.
- Portfolio of engaging lessons: Show us lessons you've designed or taught that made kids think hard and have fun doing it.
Bonus points
- Top university graduate: NUS, NTU, or equivalent. We value strong academic foundations, but not at the expense of teaching ability.
- Ex-MOE or enrichment centre experience: Familiarity with Singapore's education landscape is helpful but not essential.
- International teaching experience: Experience in international schools or cross-cultural education settings.
What We Offer
- Shape something from the ground up-you're joining before launch, not inheriting someone else's playbook
- Small classes (1:8 ratio), excellent materials, and families who value what you do
- Competitive salary ($5,600+/month) with Employment Pass sponsorship for exceptional candidates
- Growth trajectory-as we expand programmes and age groups, early team members grow into leadership roles
- Mission-driven-we believe deep mathematical thinking is one of the most valuable skills in an AI world
