Job Summary
You will lead the safe and efficient operation of the vessel and its personnel within Singapore port limits, ensuring compliance with maritime regulations and company policies while driving operational excellence and security.
Responsibilities
- Lead the navigation and operational management of the vessel and its cargo within Singapore port limits to ensure safety and regulatory compliance
- Implement and enforce the Company's safety, health, security, and environmental policies to maintain a secure and compliant onboard environment
- Manage compliance with MPA regulations, the Ship Security Plan (SSP), ISPS Code, and Oil Pollution Prevention legislation, reporting security matters to the Company Security Officer (CSO)
- Oversee vessel loading operations to ensure conformity with the Load Line Certificate, relevant legislation, and Company/Charterer loading orders
- Maintain discipline, order, and performance standards among officers and crew to promote operational efficiency and professionalism
- Monitor and prevent illegal smuggling activities onboard, including cigarettes, vape products, and liquor
- Prepare and maintain readiness for Class and SIRE surveys and inspections to uphold vessel certification and standards
Required competencies and certifications
- MPA PE, Module II (Port Limit Tanker Master certificate) or Module I (Port Limit Special Grade certificate)
- National STCW Certificate of Competency (CoC) Deck Officer Class 2 or above
- National STCW Certificate of Proficiency mandatory training and Oil Tanker certificates
- Valid Maritime Labour Convention (MLC) medical report confirming fitness and health for duty
- Demonstrated work experience onboard vessels of similar type and size (1500-4500GT) at the same rank
