Job Description

Bukku is a well-funded and fast growing software company running the most-loved cloud accounting software currently being used by more than 20k SMEs in the country. As we gear up to scale nationally and then regionally, we're looking for a Marketing Manager to own the direction of our marketing — not just run campaigns, but decide where we're heading and why.

This is a player-coach role. You'll set the long-term marketing strategy, build the plan to deploy a seven-figure annual budget effectively, and lead a small team (you'll start with one marketing executive reporting to you). But you'll also roll up your sleeves and get into the work yourself — we want a creative, out-of-the-box thinker who can both chart the direction and help make it happen. Responsibilities

  • Own the long-term marketing strategy and direction: define positioning, channels, and the roadmap to grow Bukku's brand and pipeline.
  • Plan and manage the annual marketing budget (seven figures), allocating spend across channels to maximise reach and return.
  • Lead, mentor, and grow the marketing team, starting with one marketing executive — set direction, review work, and raise the bar.
  • Get hands-on: conceptualise and execute creative, out-of-the-box campaigns across search, social, and content — don't just delegate, build alongside the team.
  • Own key performance metrics and marketing ROI; use data and insights to decide what to double down on and what to cut.
  • Communicate effectively with founders, partners, and cross-functional teams — translate marketing impact into clear business outcomes.
  • Direct content and creative across the product's channels, working with designers and external vendors to bring campaigns to life.

Requirements

  • 4–6 years of experience in marketing, including some experience leading projects or people.
  • Proven track record of planning and executing successful, creative campaigns — be ready to show real examples and the results they drove.
  • Demonstrated ability to think long-term and strategically — you can set direction and build a plan, not just run individual campaigns.
  • A creative, out-of-the-box thinker who is willing to get their hands dirty — comfortable both leading and doing.
  • Solid grasp of digital platforms, analytics tools, and budget management, paired with data-driven, ROI-focused thinking.
  • Strong command of English; a good command of a second language (Malay or Chinese) is strongly desired.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
