Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated Marketing & Communications Intern to join the NCIS Communications and Strategic Engagement team.
As part of the team, you will support the planning and execution of integrated communications and marketing initiatives that strengthen organisational reputation, engage stakeholders and advance our mission to promote cancer prevention, enable early detection, celebrate survivorship and wellbeing, and deliver empathetic communications that empower patients and caregivers throughout their care journey.
This role provides hands-on exposure to content creation, digital platforms, event management and campaign delivery across multiple channels, working closely with internal teams and external partners.
Key Responsibilities
Content Development & Storytelling
- Develop engaging content across multiple platforms, including website pages, eDMs, social media posts, campaign toolkits, marketing collateral, and event materials.
- Support copywriting, editing, and basic design of communications assets in line with brand and editorial guidelines.
- Assist with content planning, including researching topics, drafting outlines, and adapting content for different audiences and channels.
Integrated Campaigns & Marketing Communications
- Support the execution of integrated campaigns spanning digital, on-ground events, and owned channels (e.g. website, email, social media).
- Assist in coordinating campaign timelines, assets, and stakeholders to ensure consistent messaging and timely delivery.
- Help track campaign performance and compile basic reports or post-campaign summaries where required.
Event Support
- Assist in the planning, coordination, and on-site support of events, including forums, launches, engagement sessions, and outreach activities.
- Support event communications such as invitations, registration pages, presentation decks, signage, and post-event content.
- Provide logistical and administrative support before, during, and after events to ensure smooth execution.
Media Monitoring & Analysis
- Monitor traditional and digital media channels for NCIS-related coverage, industry trends, and competitor activities.
- Compile regular media reports and provide insights to support strategic communications planning.
Website & Digital Platform Support
- Assist with updating and maintaining website content.
- Support basic content audits and help ensure digital platforms are up-to-date and user-friendly.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders to gather and verify content for publication
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, media studies, or a related field.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with an interest in storytelling and audience engagement.
- Digitally savvy with a strong interest in emerging AI and digital trends.
- Proficiency in design and video editing software (e.g. Adobe creative suite, Canva and CapCut) is an advantage.
- Organised, detail-oriented and able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
