Role Overview
The Marketing & Business Development Executive is responsiblefor driving the firm's marketing presence, brand visibility, and businessdevelopment initiatives across the region. This role is ideal for someone whohas worked in the professional services industry (legal, consulting,accounting, healthcare groups, or similar), and who is comfortable balancingstrategic planning with handson operational execution.
The individual will lead marketing campaigns, BD events, brandingactivities, industry submissions, and firmwide initiatives that strengthenSOG's market positioning. This role also supports crossfunctional teamsensuring consistent brand representation across all touchpoints.
A Junior M&BD Assistant will report into this role to provide remoteadministrative and design support.
Key Responsibilities
1. Marketing Strategy & Execution
- Develop and implement marketing plans aligned with the firm's growthobjectives.
- Manage endtoend execution of marketing campaigns, including contentcreation, scheduling, and performance tracking.
- Oversee digital marketing activities (website updates, social media,newsletters, EDMs).
- Ensure brand consistency across all internal and externalcommunications.
2. Business Development & Events
- Plan, coordinate, and execute BD events, seminars, conferences, andclient engagement activities.
- Support partners and business leaders with pitch materials, proposals,and BD collateral.
- Identify opportunities for industry participation, sponsorships, andnetworking events.
- Conduct market research and competitor analysis to support BDstrategies.
3. Branding & Collateral Development
- Strengthen SOG's brand identity through consistent messaging, visualdesign, and highquality materials.
- Design or oversee the creation of marketing assets such as banners,brochures, pamphlets, name cards, and presentation decks.
- Ensure all materials adhere to brand guidelines andprofessionalservices standards.
4. Industry Research & Submissions
- Conduct research on industry trends, regulatory updates, andcompetitor activities.
- Lead or support the preparation of industry submissions, awardapplications, and professional listings.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders to gather data, insights, andsupporting documents.
5. Operational & Administrative Responsibilities
- Manage the full cycle of marketing operations: planning, budgeting,scheduling, vendor coordination, and logistics.
- Oversee the remote Junior M&BD Assistant, delegating tasks andensuring timely delivery of support work.
- Maintain marketing databases, mailing lists, and contentlibraries.
- Track KPIs and prepare monthly or quarterly marketing reports formanagement.
Required Skills & Experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Marketing, Business Development, orCommunications.
- Preferred: Experience in the professional services industry (legal,consulting, healthcare groups, accounting, or similar).
- Proven track record in planning and executing marketing and BDinitiatives.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in design and marketing tools, including:
- Adobe InDesign
- Adobe Illustrator / Photoshop(preferred)
- MS Office Suite (PowerPoint,Excel, Word)
- Familiarity with CRM systems, email marketing tools, and social mediaplatforms.
Competencies
- Strong project management and organisational skills.
- Handson, resourceful, and comfortable managing both strategy andexecution.
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
- Creative eye for branding and design.
- Ability to work independently and manage a junior team member.
- Comfortable collaborating with crossfunctional teams.
- High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
