Job Description

Role Summary:

We are seeking a proactive and driven individual to join our team as a Maritime Project & Brokerage Support Associate. This role is a gateway to the high-stakes world of Shipbroking. For the first 2-3 years, you will work closely with senior brokers, providing critical administrative and operational support.

This position offers a steep learning curve and a pathway to a highly lucrative career, where top performers in the industry can earn significantly above market standards ($200k - $500k+).

Key Responsibilities:

1. Administrative & Brokerage Support

  • Provide comprehensive administrative support to maritime brokers, including documentation, filing, and data management.

  • Prepare, review, and maintain project documents, contracts, reports, and professional correspondence.

  • Manage brokers calendars, schedule high-level meetings, and coordinate complex travel arrangements.

2. Project Coordination

  • Support ongoing maritime projects by tracking timelines, deliverables, and key milestones.

  • Monitor project progress and provide status updates to project managers and internal departments.

  • Ensure smooth project execution by following up on action items and strict deadlines.

3. Client & Stakeholder Liaison

  • Act as the primary point of contact between brokers, ship owners, charterers, and service providers.

  • Prepare professional client presentations, proposals, and project updates.

  • Handle client inquiries with professionalism and ensure timely responses.

Requirements:

  • Education: Diploma or Degree in Maritime Studies, Nautical Studies, or a related discipline.

  • Language Proficiency:Professional fluency in both English and Mandarin is required. This role involves frequent communication with stakeholders in China, where approximately 70% of vessels are fabricated.

  • Communication Skills: Must be highly extroverted, articulate, and possess strong interpersonal skills to build relationships with global clients.

  • Mobility: Willingness to travel (approximately 30%) to support brokers and oversee project milestones.

  • Experience: While previous experience in maritime operations or brokerage is an advantage, fresh graduates with a strong relevant educational background and a hunger to learn are encouraged to apply.

  • Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
