About the job

As a Marine Underwriter in this position, you will be reporting into the Marine Manager and work closely to achieve the set target and maintain the existing business. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the existing business and involved in helping to achieve and grow the overall target set by the organisation. You will be expected to underwrite and develop marine cargo and hull business to achieve the targeted profitable portfolio.

In order to be successful, you will be required to review, accept and underwrite business within Risk Acceptance Authority and guidelines including claim matters, recommendations on wordings and liaison with internal stakeholders.

Skills and experience required

• 3+ years experience as an Underwriter in the marine space (Cargo or Hull experience are welcome)
• Assistant Underwriter with keen interest to step up are welcome to apply
• Strong business acumen, good understanding of marine business and passionate about maritime
• Strong relationship with intermediaries and brokers
• Excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills
