We are looking for an experienced & self-motivated Marine Superintendent for one of our established global shipping clients. The successful candidate will play a key role in monitoring and reviewing onboard operations, strengthening navigational safety, ensuring compliance with regulatory and company requirements, and driving operational excellence through audits, training, and continuous improvement initiatives.
The ideal candidate would have at least 3 years of relevant shore-based experience in marine safety, operations, or HSSEQ in the tanker industry.
Responsibilities
Provide technical guidance on cargo handling, tank cleaning, and operational risk controls (RA/JSA).
Strengthen navigational safety through passage plan review, trend monitoring, and bridge team support.
Lead incident/near-miss investigations, conduct RCA, and ensure closure of corrective/preventive actions.
Prepare and support vessels for vetting (SIRE/CDI), PSC, and external inspections ensure timely rectification.
Assess crew competency and deliver onboard training, briefings, and safety culture initiatives.
Ensure full compliance with SMS/ISM requirements conduct internal audits and drive continuous improvement.
Support emergency preparedness through drill evaluation and response readiness improvement.
Monitor vessel performance and environmental compliance (MARPOL), promoting sustainability best practices.
Requirements
Class 1 Master Mariner CoC.
Minimum 3 years as Master and 3 years as Chief Mate on chemical tankers.
Experience on Panamax-size vessels and above.
Graduate of a marine academy / maritime institution.
Strong knowledge of chemical cargo operations, tank cleaning, RA/JSA, navigation & passage planning, incident investigation/RCA, SIRE/CDI & PSC, SMS/ISM, MARPOL, and PMS/equipment reliability.
