Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily marine operations to support safe and efficient tanker fleet performance
  • Coordinate vessel audits, inspections and certifications in compliance with maritime regulations
  • Handle tanker vetting inspections and submissions through the OCIMF SIRE platform.
  • Review vessel performance, navigational safety and operational procedures
  • Guide and train seagoing personnel to maintain safety and operational standards
  • Monitor the maintenance and readiness of cargo-handling and navigational equipment
  • Investigate marine incidents and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Liaise with charterers, terminals, insurers and other stakeholders on marine matters.
  • Manage departmental budgets, resources and operational costs
  • Improve safety management procedures, support regulatory compliance and participate in emergency response activities

Requirements

  • Possess a Master Mariner Certificate of Competency (CoC Class 1 or Class 2)
  • Minimum 7 years of shore-based experience in marine safety, health, environmental management and compliance for product or chemical tankers, with seagoing experience as a Master
  • Good knowledge of international and localmaritime regulations and requirements
  • Strong leadership, integrity, communication,teamwork and problem-solving skills
  • Professional, responsible and able to motivate and manage teams effectively
