Marine Manager

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with all operational and safety requirements from terminals, charterers, and regulatory bodies. Manage audits and inspections mandated by recognized organizations, including ISM, ISPS, and MLC. Conduct and oversee vetting inspections and maintain submissions on the OCIMF SIRE online platform. Continuously evaluate and train sea staff to ensure proficiency in their duties and adherence to the Safety Management System. Maintain up-to-date notices and publications onboard vessels. Ensure proper maintenance, servicing, and replacement of cargo operations and navigation equipment and machinery. Investigate accidents/incidents, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions. Propose and execute plans to adapt to new international and local marine operations and safety regulations. Communicate and coordinate with terminals, charterers, customers, and third parties regarding marine operations and inspections. Coordinate with P&I insurers for vessel surveys. Delegate duties to subordinates and manage their responsibilities effectively. Prepare and oversee the Marine Department's budget, ensuring expenditure is cost-effective. Participate in reviewing the Safety Management System. Serve as a member of the Emergency Response Team.

Requirements

• Educational background: Minimum of CoC class 1 or 2, with seagoing experience as a Master and at least seven (7) years of shore experience in safety, health, and environment management for product or chemical tankers. Familiarity with international and local maritime regulations and requirements. Strong sense of integrity and professionalism. Excellent leadership, teamwork, management, and communication skills. Capable of inspiring and motivating team members.
