Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated Manufacturing / Process Engineer to support the production and continuous improvement of flow cytometry instruments. This role will focus on optimizing manufacturing processes, ensuring product quality, and supporting cross-functional collaboration to drive operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize manufacturing processes for flow cytometry systems, including instrumentation, assemblies, and related components
- Research, design, modify, and validate manufacturing methods, equipment, and workflows
- Evaluate and improve production processes through data analysis, testing, and collaboration with equipment vendors
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, reduce scrap, and improve cost efficiency
- Ensure product and process quality by developing and implementing testing methods, standards, and validation procedures
- Review and provide input on Final Test Procedures and assess test results for flow cytometry instruments
- Act as a subject matter expert (SME) for assigned products, including technical troubleshooting and process support
- Lead, guide, and support test technicians in daily activities, prioritisation, and scheduling
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Quality, Supply Chain, Engineering, and global sites) to ensure smooth production operations
- Monitor and analyse scrap and rework data, and implement corrective and preventive actions
- Maintain and improve Bills of Materials (BOM) for accuracy and completeness
- Document and manage Non-Conforming Materials (NCM) in accordance with supplier quality processes
- Prepare and present product and process reports, including performance trends and improvement opportunities
- Support equipment maintenance by coordinating repair services and ensuring adherence to operational procedures
- Provide production cost analysis, including labour, material, and capacity planning
- Support production output and troubleshooting activities as required
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Biomedical, Electrical, or related discipline)
- Experience in manufacturing or process engineering, preferably within life sciences, medical devices, or analytical instruments
- Prior exposure to flow cytometry instruments or similar optical/analytical systems is highly preferred
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, testing, and validation
- Experience working with cross-functional teams in a production environment
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and continuous improvement mindset
- Good communication and stakeholder management skills
