Role Overview
The Manufacturing Operations Manager oversees daily production in the tailoring workshop. The role ensures garments are produced efficiently, accurately, and according to quality standards. The manager coordinates tailors, sewing operators, cutting staff, and workflow to maintain productivity, quality, and delivery timelines.
This is a hands-on production role. The manager must possess practical garment-making skills and be capable of performing core workshop tasks such as sewing, ironing, pressing, and operating garment production machines. The role requires the ability to step into production when needed and lead by example on the workshop floor.

Production Management
Supervise daily tailoring and garment manufacturing operations
Plan and allocate manpower across cutting, sewing, fitting, and finishing stations
Monitor production progress to ensure deadlines are met
Coordinate workflow between different stages of garment production
Support production directly during peak periods or manpower shortages
Hands-on Garment Production
Perform sewing, ironing, pressing, and garment finishing when required
Operate sewing machines and garment production equipment
Demonstrate proper garment construction and finishing techniques
Troubleshoot production issues directly on the workshop floor
Quality Control
Ensure garments meet quality and craftsmanship standards
Inspect finished garments for stitching quality, fitting accuracy, and finishing details
Identify defects and implement corrective actions
Ensure garments meet required measurements and finishing specifications
Team Leadership
Manage tailors, sewing operators, and production assistants
Train staff on production procedures, garment handling, and quality expectations
Maintain discipline, productivity, and consistency in the workshop
Process and Efficiency
Improve production workflow and reduce operational bottlenecks
Ensure proper use and maintenance of sewing machines and workshop equipment
Track production output and identify areas for operational improvement
Safety and Compliance
Maintain safe workshop practices and proper equipment handling
Ensure workplace cleanliness and organisation
Follow company procedures and operational standards
Requirements
Experience in garment manufacturing, tailoring, or apparel production
Strong hands-on skills in sewing, garment construction, ironing, and finishing
Ability to operate sewing machines and garment-making equipment independently without training
Experience supervising workshop or production staff
Strong organisational and operational management skills
Able to manage multiple production orders and deadlines
Comfortable working in a workshop production environment
Working Conditions
Working hours: 7:00 AM - 6:00 PM
6 days per week, with 1 weekday off
100% standing role requiring active work on the production floor
