Job Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily manufacturing activities to ensure production targets, quality standards, and delivery commitments are achieved.
- Enforce production schedules and priorities in alignment with capacity planning and operational requirements.
- Maintain strong presence on the shopfloor to ensure discipline, order, and compliance with work instructions and SOPs.
- Identify and escalate operational risks, bottlenecks, and deviations promptly.
- Lead, supervise, and manage Team Leads and Operators on the shopfloor.
- Enforce workforce discipline, including attendance, punctuality, behaviour, and adherence to company policies.
- Handle manpower issues, misconduct, and non-compliance in accordance with HR and company procedures.
- Conduct regular performance monitoring, feedback, and coaching to drive accountability and engagement.
- Support manpower planning, shift allocation, and overtime control.
- Ensure all manufacturing activities comply with regulatory requirements, GMP, and quality system standards (e.g. ISO 13485, FDA QSR where applicable).
- Enforce strict adherence to Device historical Records (DHR), SOPs, and approved work instructions on the shopfloor.
- Support internal and external audits by ensuring audit readiness and addressing shopfloor observations.
- Drive timely containment, corrective, and preventive actions (CAPA) for shopfloor-related issues.
- Monitor production performance, yield, scrap, and downtime take immediate corrective actions where required.
- Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity, quality, cost, and safety.
- Ensure proper line clearance, changeover control, and documentation accuracy.
- Ensure proper use and basic condition monitoring of production equipment.
- Coordinate with Engineering and Maintenance teams on equipment issues, breakdowns, and preventive maintenance.
- Enforce cleanroom behaviour, gowning discipline, and controlled environment requirements where applicable.
- Ensure correct handling, identification, and traceability of materials, WIP, and finished goods.
- Monitor WIP levels and coordinate with Planning, Warehouse, and QA to prevent shortages or mix-ups.
- Enforce FIFO and material control rules on the shopfloor.
- Enforce EHS policies and safe work practices on the production floor.
- Investigate and report safety incidents and near misses.
- Track and report key shopfloor KPIs (output, manpower efficiency, quality, attendance, discipline issues).
Job Requirements:
- Possess minimum Diploma/Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- Possess minimum 2 years of experience in a manufacturing or production engineering environment.
- Hands-on experience in process troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation.
