Overview
We are seeking a hands-on experience Engineer to support both New Product Introduction (NPI) and Manufacturing Operations. This role bridges engineering and production, ensuring smooth transition of new products from development into stable, high-quality mass production. The ideal candidate is technically strong, detail-oriented, and comfortable working on the shop floor to guide/support assembly, troubleshoot issues, and drive continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Generate and maintain multi-level BOMs, work instructions (WI), SOPs, and assembly standards
Interpret RFQ technical documentation (e.g., drawings, specifications), and prepare technical clarifications, enquiries, and proposals to support build-to-print requirements
Support design-for-manufacturability and assembly (DfMA) and value engineering/value analysis (VAVE) initiatives
Plan and execute product and process validation activities, including test plans, prototype builds, and first article (FA) builds
Collaborate closely with project management, supply chain, quality, and other production teams to ensure alignment and execution
Support and drive NPI activities from prototype and FA build through to smooth transition into mass production
Develop, implement, and optimize assembly and manufacturing processes for new products
Monitor and improve assembly efficiency in terms of cycle time, reduce defects, optimize workflow, delivery and quality
Troubleshoot assembly and process issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventive actions
Identify risks during product ramp-up and implement mitigation plans to ensure stable production
Drive process improvements using methodologies such as Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma, and apply structured problem-solving tools (e.g., 4M1E, 5 Whys, Fishbone) to identify root causes and implement effective solutions
Train and support technicians and operators on new products, processes, and work standards
Requirements:
Preferred 3-5 years of relevant experience in equipment assembly, manufacturing engineering, or NPI (preferably in semiconductor or precision equipment industry)
Proven experience in leading or owning NPI projects, from prototype/FA build through to production ramp-up
Strong knowledge of multi-level BOM structures, material planning, and change management (ECO/ECN)
Strong ability to interpret and work from mechanical drawings, assembly drawings, and electrical schematics (mechatronics systems)
Solid understanding of product quality, process control, and manufacturing best practices
Hands-on experience applying manufacturing and quality tools, including:
5S, process flow design, line balancing, capacity vs demand planning
PFMEA, structured problem-solving (e.g., 4M1E, 5 Whys)
Control plans, SOPs, and work instructions
Hands-on, proactive, and results-driven and a strong sense of ownership and accountability
Detail-oriented with high standards for quality and workmanship
Able to drive NPI transition to production independently, with minimal supervision
Effective communicator across cross-functional teams (Project, Supply Chain, Quality, Production)
Strong team player with leadership potential and ability to influence others
Continuous improvement mindset with focus on value creation
Able to use Solid works to design simple fixtures / jigs is an advantage
