Job Summary
The Managing Director shall report to our Japan Head Quarter and lead the team in Singapore to implement and achieve company's vision and long-term goals. He shall also oversee the operations of the Singapore Office and joint-venture business(if any).
Responsibilities
- Lead the development and implementation of company policies and objectives aligned with the strategic direction to drive business growth and operational excellence.
- Integrate Management System requirements into business processes using risk-based thinking to ensure effective management and compliance.
- Take accountability for the Management System's effectiveness and achievement of intended outcomes to maintain high operational standards.
- Ensure consistent determination, understanding, and fulfillment of customer, statutory, and regulatory requirements to uphold compliance and customer satisfaction.
- Develop and execute comprehensive business strategies to achieve company goals and enhance market position.
- Establish and monitor cost control programs, including annual budget development, payroll management, and cost analysis to optimize financial performance.
- Maintain close communication in Japanese with the Japan Headquarter to align corporate vision, mission, and initiatives.
- Execute corporate vision, mission, and initiatives from Headquarter to ensure cohesive organizational direction.
- Lead and manage the Singapore team with strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills to foster a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
- Oversee operations of the Singapore office and any joint-venture businesses, ensuring smooth and efficient management.
- Manage personnel effectively and communicate information across diverse nationalities to support inclusive team dynamics.
- Apply strong business acumen and strategic thinking to make informed decisions and drive organizational success.
- Utilize excellent planning, time management, collaboration, and decision-making skills to meet operational objectives.
Required competencies and certifications
- Fluency in English and Japanese, including reading, writing, and speaking, to facilitate effective communication with international stakeholders.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 standards to ensure quality management system compliance.
- Minimum Polytechnic/Bachelor's Degree preferred in Business Management, Economics, or Logistics-related studies.
- Minimum of 15 years experience in the freight forwarding/logistics industry demonstrating leadership and operational expertise.
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Previous working experience with Nissin Corporation in a similar leadership role.
- Good understanding of corporate finance to support budgeting and cost control initiatives.
- Strong interpersonal skills including diplomacy and patience to manage diverse teams and stakeholders.
