Job Description

Job summary :

To lead the overall Debt Capital Markets (DCM) business of Haitong International Singapore office as Managing Director and Head of DCM, supporting the Regional Deputy CEO leadership. This position will drive new business origination and revenue growth, lead team management and talent development, facilitate cross-department collaboration, spearhead the establishment and build-up of the Singapore DCM team, formulate internal policies, governance frameworks and business operating mechanisms, and deliver end-to-end execution for a full spectrum of DCM transactions including bond issuances, financing advisory, liability management and capital market solutions for corporate, financial institution and sovereign clients across Asia.

Responsibilities :

  • Lead the overall DCM business for Haitong International Singapore as Managing Director and Head of DCM, supporting regional deputy CEO leadership in business strategy formulation, target setting and performance delivery.
  • Spearhead the establishment, build-out and scale-up of the Singapore DCM team, covering team recruitment, organizational setup, role definition and team capacity building.
  • Drive new business origination and business development, identify market opportunities and develop and deepen client relationships with corporates, financial institutions, and sovereign issuers across Southeast Asia and Greater China expand market footprint and grow the DCM revenue pipeline in Singapore and the surrounding region.
  • Lead cross-department collaboration and internal linkage with corporate finance, sales & trading, risk, compliance, legal and other functional teams to ensure seamless deal delivery and aligned business objectives.
  • Establish, optimize and implement department-level internal policies, operating procedures, governance frameworks and business workflows for the Singapore DCM practice strengthen internal control, operational standardization and compliance infrastructure to support local market business expansion.
  • Perform end-to-end leadership of DCM transaction origination, structuring, negotiation and execution, covering bond offerings, liability management, and debt-related advisory services.
  • Provide people leadership: manage, mentor and develop direct reports and the broader Singapore DCM team set performance objectives, foster talent development, enhance overall team capability and build a high-performance team culture.
  • Monitor business performance, providing regular business updates, market insights and strategic recommendations to regional and group leadership.
  • Ensure high standards of accuracy, professionalism, compliance and quality in all transaction deliverables, client outputs and department operations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or above in Finance, Accountancy, Business Administration, Economics, or other quantitative-related disciplines Master's degree is preferred.
  • Minimum 12-15 years of solid relevant Debt Capital Markets / fixed income investment banking experience, preferably within an investment bank, securities firm or financial institution with substantial Asia market exposure.
  • Proven track record of originating, structuring and executing large-scale DCM transactions including bond issuances, liability management and financing advisory across Asia markets
  • Demonstrated people-management experience including team building, talent mentoring and leading cross-functional projects prior experience in setting up or scaling up a local market business / team will be a strong advantage.
  • Deep understanding of the Singapore capital market regulatory regime, ASEAN debt market landscape, Greater China outbound financing and cross-border debt capital market practices.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation and negotiation capabilities in English, Mandarin and Cantonese additional Southeast Asian language capability is a plus.

Special requiements:

  • Willingness to undertake frequent business travel for client meetings, roadshows, and regional business flexible working hours to accommodate cross-time-zone market and client needs.

Years of relevant working experience:

  • Minimum 12-15 years of relevant working experience in Debt Capital Markets, fixed income investment banking or cross-border debt financing within the financial services industry.
  • Proven successful track record in DCM deal origination and execution and client relationship management relevant experience in team management, local office setup and business expansion is essential.
