Job Description

What The Role Is

Skills and Workforce Development Agency (SWDA) is developing strategies and programmes to support (i) Professionals, Managers, Executives and Technicians (PMETs) in their 50s and 60s to achieve their aspirations and thrive in their later-stage careers, (ii) employers to create age-friendly work opportunities and workplaces, (iii) intermediaries and other enablers to build an ecosystem that supports career longevity.

What You Will Be Working On

In this role, you will plan and implement innovation pilots and new initiatives, working closely with internal and external stakeholders across different phases of project design and execution. This includes preparing management papers and presentations, coordinating and supporting stakeholder engagements, supporting implementation, documenting learning points, and assessing and scaling successful pilots.

This role is suited for someone who enjoys working across the full innovation lifecycle — from strategic planning to the sourcing and management of partners and vendors, implementation and evaluation of pilots, and resource planning to scale successful initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Planning & Innovation Development

  • Conceptualise, plan, and develop innovation projects and new initiatives.
  • Contribute to strategic planning, including framing problem statements, shaping options, identifying opportunities, and developing recommendations.
  • Prepare papers, briefs, presentations, and updates to support management discussions and decision-making.
  • Translate strategic intent and management guidance into actionable workplans and project pathways.

Project Development and Delivery Across the Innovation Lifecycle
  • Engage internal teams and stakeholders managing projects across different phases of the innovation lifecycle, including ideation, design, development, piloting, implementation, evaluation, and scaling.
  • Work closely with internal teams to refine project scope, approach, and delivery plans as projects evolve.
  • Support pilot implementation, including coordination of workstreams, tracking of timelines and deliverables, and resolution of implementation issues.
  • Document key learnings, emerging risks, and improvement opportunities throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Drive the sourcing, assessment, onboarding, and management of partners, service providers, vendors to implement partner and stakeholder engagement activities and events.

    Resource planning and evaluation
  • Resource planning, including assessing manpower, budget, capabilities, partnerships, and operational requirements needed to deliver and scale initiatives.
  • Develop recommendations for sustainability, scale-up, or integration into business-as-usual operations where appropriate.

What We Are Looking For

  • Relevant experience in strategic planning, corporate planning, innovation/start-ups, business transformation, policy or programme development.
  • Experience working across multiple stages of project or innovation lifecycles, from planning and development to implementation and evaluation.
  • Strong capability in stakeholder engagement, including partnering internal teams, external organisations, vendors, and senior management.
  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple moving parts in dynamic environments.
  • Excellent writing, synthesis, and presentation skills, with the ability to develop clear, structured materials for management and stakeholder engagement.
  • Good analytical skills, with the ability to assess issues, structure options, and draw out actionable insights.
  • Comfortable working in contexts where projects may evolve and require adaptation along the way.
  • A genuine interest in career longevity and enabling PMETs to continue contributing their expertise
