Manager, Senior Data Modeller (Tech Lead)

As a Manager, Senior Data Modeller (Tech Lead), you will lead the design, development, and implementation of complex data models that power large-scale analytics platforms. This role focuses on hands-on data engineering, guiding developer squads, and translating technical strategy into scalable, high-performance Big Data solutions.

What will you do

Data Modelling & Engineering

• Design robust dimensional, relational, and NoSQL data models for large-scale Big Data workloads.
• Build and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines using Spark, Scala, or Python.
• Ensure high-performance, scalable, and maintainable data solutions.

Technical Leadership

• Guide developer squads in implementing best-practice data models and pipelines.
• Manage technical debt and provide hands-on support to resolve complex engineering challenges.
• Collaborate with project managers to deliver development milestones on time and within budget.

Platform & Ecosystem Management

• Work with Big Data ecosystems including Cloudera, Hadoop, Hive, Kafka, and cloud-native databases.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and tools to improve platform performance and reliability.
  
  

The ideal candidate should possess:

• Proven expertise in Big Data ecosystems (Cloudera, Hadoop, Hive, Kafka) and cloud-native databases
• Strong hands-on experience with Spark, Scala, or Python for ETL/ELT pipelines
• 8+ years of experience in Data Engineering and Data Model design
• Track record of leading developer teams and delivering complex data solutions
• Can-do mindset with the ability to contribute hands-on while leading technical efforts
